Dr. Silver completed his undergraduate education at Hobart College, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. His senior year, he served as the captain of the varsity tennis team and was selected by ESPN as an academic All-American.
He was awarded his DMD from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. During that time, he was given a traveling fellowship from Harvard Medical School and completed dental research in Vienna, Austria. He remained at Harvard to complete his orthodontic residency program, where he received a Masters in Medical Science and an orthodontic degree. While in his orthodontic residency, Dr. Silver performed research on clear braces that laid some of the groundwork for LightForce, which is a digital platform that utilizes 3D printed braces to offer the most customized orthodontic treatment available to patients. Dr. Silver’s work was published in one of the most prestigious peer reviewed orthodontic journals.
Following his orthodontic training, Dr. Silver spent several years in the greater Boston area treating patients in private practice alongside mentors of his from Harvard. He also passed rigorous written and clinical examinations to became board certified, which is an accomplishment that only about one in three orthodontists have.
Two years ago, Dr. Silver and his family relocated to the area to be closer to family and to find somewhere a little bit warmer! They fell in love with the community and he and his wife, Lori, are very excited to raise their three boys Bode, Brooks and Graham here.
Outside of the Office
Dr. Silver loves spending time outside and playing and watching sports. He still plays competitive tennis as well as any other racket sport he can find, but now finds himself more frequently on the practice courts as his boys learn to play. He also enjoys hiking, skiing, playing squash and golf and most important of all, spending time with his family.
